Enjoyed a lovely few days in your beautiful cottage. Well equipped and very clean - thank you to housekeeping.
The Beast from the East retreated and we saw Derbyshire in stunning sunshine.
Thank you again, looking forward to our return trip.

Gardeners Cottage proved to be just the thing we needed. Although we have been in this area before we believe it is worth coming back to. There are so many things to see, do and to be tasted.
The butcher is excellent, as are the scones in Herbert’s Tearoom (we don’t have scones at home, but love them to bits). You can walk or cycle for days just starting from the front door of Gardeners Cottage.
Tissington itself is a very cosy and a “erg kneuterig” village. We first walked through the village when we were in our teens, in the early years of the seventies. Comparing nowadays with forty years ago the village and hall have much improved.
The present lord of the manor is doing a challenging but great job to improve and sustain Tissington for the next generations.
We hope to come back to this lovely place.

I just wanted to say a big thank you. You have been great- very friendly and helpful when I first booked the cottage, made enquiries and then....asked to stay a bit longer!
We have had a wonderful week visiting the Heights of Abraham, Bakewell, Chatsworth House, Ilam, Bassettwood Farm and Sudbury Hall. We even happened upon a hot air balloon being prepared for take-off in Tissington one evening.
Tissington is just beautiful. We have fallen in love with the village and the surrounding area. The sunshine really showed it off at its best.
Finally, the cottage was a delight to stay in. It felt like a home from home. It's a lovely place to stay and, no matter which window you look out of, the views are so beautiful and peaceful.
Thank you very much for all your help, we’ve had a holiday to remember.

We enjoyed a lovely holiday. Although there were no tours available for the Hall, Sir Richard very kindly agreed that we could have a tour of the gardens to the Hall, and that was very much appreciated. Would definitely recommend it.

There was no need to involve Estate management during my stay, but my impression was that much thought had been put into the furnishings and facilities provided. I benefited from the happy coincidence of arriving during the Wells Dressing Festival, and will have very good memories of the holiday and location, and the area generally. I would have no hesitation in booking this property again.

We would like to say a big thank you for the wonderful time we had during our stay at Gardeners cottage last week.
Your village is like a step back in time when what matters most is the feeling of community. You all made us feel so welcome and involved .By taking part in the well dressing preparations we were able to meet many people and the Church service and blessing of the wells was an amazing experience that will stay with us forever. We hope to come back to see it at a different time of the year.

We stayed in Gardeners Cottage, which is next to the duck pond so great for wildlife watching. The cottage was well equipped and nicely maintained. The site has a good cafe, sweet shop and gift shop. it is close to the Tissington trail which is handy for walkers and cyclists. Ashbourne is a 3.5 mile walk away. The site is highly recommended.

"A superb and very well appointed cottage. We were made to feel welcome by both Elaine, who cleans and runs the local coffee shop, and Sir Richard who owns the Tissington Estate."

"The Gardner's Cottage is in a superb location - ideal getaway especially for those that like walking/cycling, with the Tissington Trail on the doorstep. Cottage furnished beautifully, a perfect holiday. Few places we like to repeat a visit, but this proves the exception. Free tour of Tissington Hall. Chatsworth 35 mins"

Tissington is one of the prettiest and most unspoilt villages not only in Derbyshire but in the whole of the country. An avenue of 200 year old lime trees immediately creates an air of expectancy as you drive into the village. On arrival you are welcomed by neat well looked after gardens and limestone cottages, behind wide grass verges and backed by mature trees. The moment you arrive you mmediately start to relax and unwind. No planner designed Tissington Village; its beauty is the result of evolution.
